Adaptive Intelligence Communicator Manual
Introduction
Hello, my name is Christian Ryu and I have created and designed my final project around the implementation of technology to solve individuals who has nonverbal learning disorder, or other neuro-based disorders that prevents them from speaking. These sorts of disorders include non-verbal Autism, spinal injuries, certain serious non-verbal versions of ADHD and social communication disorders.
My Adaptive Intelligence Communicator (AIC) will bridge that gap between verbal and non-verbal communication by allowing the non-verbal users to utilize multiple tools, such as an augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tool, rings on the hand for individuals who use sign-language and a wearable earpiece that will assemble digital speech to give a voice to the non-verbal.
AIC will also give the opportunity for the non-verbal to select their own voice, adjust its tone and pitch to give a new frontier in a world where this sort of disability is commonplace. The AIC device itself will have the ability to process incoming sensory inputs and transmit signals to the spiral shaped cochlear membrane and have a built in EEG sensor detect electrical activity in the brain to give the appropriate template for the AIC to learn secondary results of habits from the wearer.
Once the AIC receives the cornucopia of sensor and input data, it will appropriately predict, assemble, and transmit the user’s digital speech to other individuals who are wearing the AIC. My final individual assignment is an instruction manual made forth by NeXus Industries to teach a new user to power-up and initialize their first AIC. I have also included 2 short stories on two individuals who have been affected by AIC in different ways.
Context behind the manufacturing of the AIC
This story takes place around the 2030 era and multiple manufacturers have been stood up to build communication devices such as the AIC I am depicting. Such as different cellular devices can pass communication between different manufactures, a standard of digital communication data has been established by the government so devices such as the AIC I have proposed can seamlessly be integrated into an already existing network.
